Still in Business

I’ve had a YouTube channel sitting there for a while.

Not new.
It wasn't a recent creation.
Just… ignored.

And that wasn’t accidental.

For a long time, I wasn’t interested in adding more noise to an already loud space. I didn’t want to chase algorithms, trends, or thumbnails designed to shout instead of say something meaningful. Most of what passes for “creative advice” online today is either recycled, rushed, or disconnected from the reality of making an actual living.

But lately, I’ve been thinking more about longevity.

Not growth hacks.
Not viral moments.
Longevity.

What it takes to stay profitable with a camera over years and decades. How decisions compound. How tools change, platforms come and go, and the only real constant is whether you can adapt without losing your footing.

That’s what finally pulled this channel out of the background.

Still in Business isn’t about how to get famous. It’s about how to keep going.

It’s about stock photography, commercial work, video production, and—more importantly—the thinking behind those choices. The unglamorous parts. The boring parts. The parts that don’t trend well but pay the bills and build careers.

If you’ve been around creative work long enough, you know this truth:
Most people don’t fail because they aren’t talented.
They fail because they burn out, follow bad advice, or chase someone else’s version of success.

This project is a place to talk honestly about:

  • What actually sustains a creative business

  • Why experience matters more than gear

  • How to think in systems instead of single wins

  • What I’ve learned the hard way so you don’t have to repeat it

I’m not trying to teach from theory. This is a perspective earned from doing the work, watching industries shift, and staying flexible enough to keep earning through it all.

I don’t plan to post constantly. I don’t plan to shout. And I don’t plan to pretend there’s one right path.

I do plan to document what it looks like to still be standing when the noise dies down.

The first video is embedded below. It sets the tone for what this channel is—and what it isn’t. If it resonates, great. If not, that’s fine too. This isn’t meant for everyone.

It’s meant for people who care about staying in the game.

No hype.
No shortcuts.
Just experience, process, and perspective.

Because no matter how much changes, the goal is the same:

Still in business.
